Lent Day 35

Scripture: Psalm 34: 15

The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right:

his ears are open to their cries for help.

Today's Meditation:

This Psalm shows the Lord's intimacy with the righteous. God’s “eyes” are on the righteous, and His “ears” are open to their cry, but yet His “face” is against the wicked. Eyes are the windows of the soul, and God reserves this intimacy of His eyes to those whom He calls “righteous.” The LORD’S eye scans the whole world to find those whose hearts are committed to him and to strengthen them” (2 Chron 16:9).

God sees all people, inside and out, from before we were even conceived and throughout our lives. He is always pursuing us. He will never leave us. He knows how it feels to have a broken spirit and how much we need his comfort, healing, and love. God simply promises to be near us in all circumstances. Call out to God. He is closely listening for your voice.

Prayer:

What a gift you have given us! O Lord.

I have holy confidence in your comforting presence beside me each day. All I need to do is acknowledge you are at my side and talk with you about my daily journey. You understand every one of my earthly emotions, Jesus. I am able to look into the future with the holy assurance that you will continue to see me as long as I breathe. When I enter your arms, I will look into your radiant face and know that I am finally home.

I surrender my life to you once again.

Amen
