Heliotropism

From the rising of the sun to the place where it sets, the name of the lord is to be praised.
~ Psalm 113:3
Sunflowers are my absolute favorite fall flowers! They come in all shapes and sizes, from tiny dwarfs to giant giants. Some of these giants can grow up to fourteen feet tall and have blooms that can be as big as a large pumpkin when fully grown! Isn’t that mind-blowing? And guess what? Sunflowers have this amazing ability called heliotropism. As the young sunflowers grow, they naturally turn their faces towards the sun. In the morning, they face the east and follow the sun throughout the day until they face the west in the evening. At night, these sunflowers gradually turn their heads back from the west to face east, preparing for the sunrise. Isn’t that incredible?
Imagine spending our days gazing upon the Son, Jesus. Imagine how much better our lives would be if we kept our eyes fixed on the Son of God. The difference we’d make in the world, our jobs, our church family, and our loved ones would be incredible. Let’s give it a try! Let’s wake up every morning and face the Son, following Him all day long.
