We Pray

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14
The quote, “The people who aren’t praying are straying,” holds significant meaning.
Occasionally, the church can seem like a place where individuals show religious fervor but lack sincerity. However, God desires our authenticity, especially in our prayers. Prayer is not about impressing God; it’s about being candid with Him. We can only deceive ourselves, not Him. As Jesus said, we should attain peace with Him. God desires our genuineness, not pretense. He seeks the sinner, not the flawless saint. Our genuine prayer life involves presenting our needs, desires, and even our transgressions to God. In 2 Chronicles 7:14, we are assured that God will respond to our sincere prayers. We don’t pray to impress or demonstrate our worth; God desires to connect with us in our current state and transform our lives. As we pray, we become more like Jesus. Let us dedicate time to solitude with God, cease pretense, and lay our burdens at His feet. Let us embody genuineness!
May this song's lyrics be your prayer:
"We are your people, called by your name;
in humble surrender, we look to you again.
Start the revival; we turn from our wicked ways,
you'll hear from heaven, forgive and heal our land."
