The Road to Belfast

Psalm 16:11:
You make known to me the path of life; you fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”
We had an incredible trip to New England, visiting Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont during peak leaf peeping season. The sight of the colorful trees was absolutely stunning! We also got to explore Acadia and the beautiful Maine coast. While driving, we used our cell phones to find all the cool places to visit and things to do. We were super excited to check out the C.S. Lewis museum in Belfast, but guess what? It was actually in Belfast, Ireland, not Maine! After a good laugh, we decided to take a stroll along the bay and stumbled upon this labyrinth. I took a moment to prayer-walk the labyrinth for my great-grandson, Silas, and it was a really special and spiritual moment. I shared all my hopes and dreams for this precious child with the Lord. I sensed the Lord's presence and felt the peace that comes from our loving Father.

Psalm 16:11 reminds us that God will reveal the path of life to us. We don’t have to navigate through the darkness or rely solely on our flawed instincts. When we surrender to His word, God actively leads, guides, and illuminates our next step. The verse also reminds us that there is joy in His presence. Joy isn’t a fleeting emotion tied to good circumstances; it’s an overflow of closeness to God. Circumstances can be heavy, painful, or chaotic, but God’s presence remains an unwavering source of peace and strength. My husband reminded me of a saying that suggests that instead of talking to God about our problems, we should talk to our problems about God. It’s a refreshing perspective on prayer. Our God is so much greater than we realize. Eternal pleasures are in God's hand. The world offers pleasures that fade, decay, or leave regret behind. God, on the other hand, offers an eternal, inexhaustible supply of goodness that satisfies the deepest human desires without ever running dry.
