Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord Himself, is my strength and my defense; He has become my salvation.

Isaiah 12:2

One of the ways I worship at home during quiet moments is to listen to worship songs and let the words and music speak to my heart. I repeatedly allow the words of praise and Scripture to penetrate my mind and soul, often leading me into Spirit-filled worship and prayers. This week, I’m particularly praying for the nations of the world. I no longer worry about what’s happening on the news because I’ve heard my Father’s voice and know how much He loves the nations. Although wickedness and violence grieve His heart, love abounds. He desires for us to intercede for the nations of the earth, including our own. As we pray for the people of all the nations, especially pray for the Christians who are being persecuted across the globe. Stand with them in prayer during their difficult hours. When our hearts are turned to the Lord, there’s no fretting or fear; instead, there’s peace that passes all understanding. Our anger and despair turn into prayers and faith. Worship allows us to see the heart of the Father, and there’s a knowing that Yeshua, also known as Jesus, is on the throne.

Yeshua, the Hebrew and Aramaic name for the Savior, means “Yahweh is salvation” or “He saves.” The name comes from the root yasha, which means rescue or deliverance. It’s a shortened version of Joshua. Yeshua’s name holds significance because it represents his role in the Bible as the one who saves his people from sin.

I hope you’ll take some time to worship personally with the song and the famous portrait I’m sharing. I hope you’ll have a special time with God, free from the distractions of the world and "bad" news. I’ve also included a YouTube video about the history of this well-known portrait of Yeshua, who is "Prince of Peace".
